The first two events were Ballon Fiesta Groningen. After that we moved a few kilometres north to a new city. It will be build in 25 years. The name is Meerstad (Lake City), All the buildings in and around the waterside. In 2011 it's the 2nd edition of Ballon Fiesta Meerstad. The edition 2009 was due to bad weather conditions cancelled. The event has around 10 special shapes; the rest is the regular round balloons.
