Three Crowns Golf Course In 2005, RE/MAX The Group and our supporting businesses dreams came true when we successfully launched 10 hot air balloons from a small piece of ground at Three Crowns Golf Course, formerly known as the BP Amoco Oil Refinery.
Casper College In 2006 we went a step further in growing our event when we partnered with Casper College. This move was one of the most important factors in the growth and success of the Central Wyoming Balloon Fest. Through this partnership we were able to move our launch field from Three Crowns to the Murane Playing Fields at Casper College, located just off of Poplar Street and College Drive. By doing this, we had the opportunity to bring in more hot air balloons and start growing the event into more of a Festival atmosphere.
5 Years & Counting The 2009 event marks the 5th year of Hot Air Ballooning in Casper! Many things have changed and been added to make the event what it has grown to become today. In January, 2009 the Central Wyoming Balloon Fest committee members decided that it was time to take another step by changing the name of the festival as well as becoming a non-profit organization. The Casper Balloon Roundup Committee was formed and we are now a completely independent, non-profit organization.
Most Photographed Events For the past few years, our event has been one of the most photographed events in Casper. We still continue to see photos and hear talk of previous years events and how magnificent they were. An estimated 7,000 people have stood and watched over the past few years, not to mention the several thousand other Casper residents who followed the balloons from launch to landing.
But numbers only begin to tell the story of the Casper Balloon Roundup, formerly know as Central Wyoming Balloon Festival. Because what you can't see are the thousands of smiling, awestruck faces that hot air balloons cause when they fill the Casper sky. What you can't hear until you walk out onto the field at nightfall are burners simultaneously igniting causing warmth all around you. What you can't feel until you join us is the massive joy the event brings to our guests.
BALLOON FEST PARK is located at the Murane Soccer Playing Fields at Casper College. The wonderful launch site is near the intersection of College Drive and Poplar Street. Parking is available in and around College Drive and Poplar Streets. Additional parking, as well as a birds eye view is located at Casper College.
