The Gulf Coast Hot Air Balloon Festival began in 2005. In 2006, the Annual Date was changed to Father's Day Weekend and will always be held on Father's Day Weekend. The main focus of the festival is the hot air balloons and pilot competition. Because Hot Air Balloons can only fly in the early morning or late afternoon, festival activities are planned to go on throughout the day rain or shine.

From I-65 take exit #37 (Rabun/Bay Minette) Gulf Shores Parkway. Go south on Hwy 287, it will merge with Hwy 59. Continue south for approximately 40 miles. *In Foley, turn right (west) at the intersection of Hwys 98 and 59. Cross over Hickory St., Festival Grounds will be on the right hand side of Hwy 98 (aka Laurel Ave), clearly marked. The South Baldwin Chamber office is on the NE corner of Hwys 98 & 59.

From I-10, take Hwy 59 exit (Loxley), travel south on Hwy 59 about 15 miles.
