Started in 1983 by husband and wife balloonists Karen Rosenthal and Wayne Metler, the Libro London Balloon Festival features 5-days of 6:30am and 6:45pm Mass Ascensions with 25 balloons including 5 special shapes, 4 nights of LIVE concerts, the balloon festival midway, food and craft vendors, balloon glows and more. Mr. Metler gave the festival to Sundance Balloons in November 2003 due to loss of key sponsors.

Special Shapes at the 2007 festival were: Canadian Flag, Maple Leaf, Tyrone the T-Rex, Felix the Cat, and Piko.
