In 2018, Romania celebrates 100 years!

The first 100 years has been a challenge! In the Great War, we lost 900.000 people. 600.000 were civilians. The Second World War was no victory either: communism won … and we’re still paying for it today. In 1989, we stood on the streets and once again paid the price for freedom. And somehow, this is our story since the beginning of time... It’s kind of a miracle we’re still here. Sometimes it’s hard to be Romanian. But we keep smiling. Because for us, life is all about people, love and kindness.

This year, the Maramures Balloon Fiesta celebrates all Europe’s heroes…

We’d be honoured to have a representative from each European country and beyond, for a memorable meeting of pilots sending a great message of peace and joy, visible all over Europe:
